I'm not reading all of this.

A 7mm RM is a great all around hunting round. Its not too big for Deer and big enough to do lots of damage on larger game like moose and elk.

2 pennies.

To me the .300 win mag would be optimal. I shoot a .300wsm and find nothing wrong with a .30 cal bullet. I have shot a few moose now with 165 partitions out of my .300 wsm and have had great success. That being said I doubt any caliber will ever take as many moose or elk as the .270 win, 30-06 or even 30-30. I think too many new hunters have the idea that you need a 250 grain bullet for moose, nothing can beat a well placed shot.
