The Outfitting Year in Pictures on the Wild Coast

The boar on the left is 6' nose to tail on the carcass. The boar on the right is 6' nose to tail on the carcass. Neither is 5' 11" or 6' 1". The one on the left has a longer skull. The one on the right has a wider skull. And the one on the left has bigger feet. The one on the right is brown. There is not a one size fits all. But there is a lot of stretch in a green hide.

The Grizzly at starboard had a 7.750" baculum, and the port hand bear a 6.650" baculum. Both were shot at a pressure of 990 millibars, and killed in sunshine. Paws were larger on the bear with the larger wedding tackle, adding credence to the foot size to Johnson ratio hypothesis. The track found would no doubt belong to the owner of a 9" baculum.

Another 6' boar that is different.

I have three skulls from 6' boars in my freezer that I will throw side by side if I ever get around to finishing them.

Very nice bears guys...

D*mn its getting me going I have to get out hunting but the weather here sucks and I have so much work to do that I can't get a day off during the week.

I even picked up my now 10 year old son's first hunting license and he is dying to get his first bear but stuff keeps happening like this last weekend was my wife's birthday on Sat and Mothers Day Sunday 2 weeks before that I was up in Vernon visiting my sick mom, this coming long weekend is my nephews wedding = who gets married on a freaking long weekend?

There's you problem. Different rules for brown phase bears! I'm told the white Spirit bears don't even leave tracks, they just float!;)

Be thankful.
There will come a time when funerals will out pace weddings.

Make time.

Just saw this freddy, we don’t start in earnest until August this year, did a little black bear hunting but without Grizz not much happening in spring. We can’t compete with the bait and road black bear hunts as it costs $5000 just to get to the territory and back charter and travel considered, and that’s more than what a lot of those road or bait hunts cost. Goats fire up Aug 1, will be fun, Hoyt’s back this year again.
