the paint is melting on my cz 858

maybe lacquer means that paint after painting is "baked" and paint means that after painting it is left to dry at temperature of thing without "baking".

Laquer, 1.Any of various clear or coloured synthetic coatings, made by dissolving cellulose coatings together with plasticisers and pigments in a mixture of volitile solvents and used to give wood and metal surfaces a high gloss.

In other words paint.

That's not paint, it's lacquer !:) It's just for locking the sight, if you don't like it scrape it off.

You will find that rifles will 'sizzle' after a while, and this is especially true for AK's.

I was fortunate enough to find myself overseas a month ago where a friend has an auto AK. After 2-3 mags (60-90 rounds) in full auto the rifle is VERY hot, and there is a lot of smoke that comes off the barrel and handguard area. This is a combination of burning oil, smoke from the rounds themselves and from the gas piston area.

Even in semi auto fire it is possible to get the rifle very hot, and I can imagine doing this with 5rd mags provided you dump around 8 mags in quick succession.

Are you sure it is paint coming off, or is it that your VZ is just getting hot?
