Last few times......Winchester Model 70 SS FW in 300WSM with 168gr TSX, Rem 700 SPS in a Bansnser; 270 WCF with 140gr Accubonds, and now a Leeper built Winchester Model 70 SS with Bansner in .284 WCF with a 140 TTSX.
I am looking for a new build, likely a 300 or 338 WM on another Winchester 70 SS. Or a Cooper in 338-06. I am have a hard time with decisions........

Pre-war Model 70 Winchester in 9.3X62 with 270 gr Speer, was plenty for the moose in September and a big bear last Spring.

Stainless Remington 700 SPS-DM in 300 Win with a Burris Fullfield 3-9 with posi-lock. 180grain Hornady BTSP with 76.5 grains of IMR 7828 @ 2960 fps. Also user my BLR .308 a few times too.

Sure a lot of different moose mashers out there. Here's a dead moose that dropped at the shot to my wife's Ithaca LSA65 30-06 with a 150 gr TSX and 47 gr of H4895 -- MV of 2840 ft/sec. Range was 60 yards. Weird looking rack, but it did NOT effect the taste of the meat.

Not because I think that I need more horsepower than that, but because I'm a man, darn it, I shoot a 168 TSX in my Tikka M65 with 57 gr of H414 for a MV of 2900 ft/sec.

While i have alot of choices, it always goes back to my 3 favs., in order:C. Sharps(Montana) '74 in 50/90 Sharps with 540gr. cast flat pt.(soft) and 103grs. of swiss 1 1/2fg black powder. Marlin Cowboy 45/70 with Williams rear peep and firesight front, 340 gr Gould HP for deer and 480gr. WFN GC at 1900fps for the rest. Win. 94 XTR in .356 Win. w/ 2 3/4X Weaver scope, 250 gr. hardcast flat pt GC bullet.

This yr, BLR 450 Marlin, Hawk 400gr, prob. 1800fps or so.
