The perfect turkey shotgun?

anybody have the shurshot remmy stock - what u think of it?

I have one and it's great for turkey/deer. I wouldn't like it for waterfowl, but that's a different perfect gun. It's a comfortable, ambidextrous stock. I use a single point sling adapter when walking around, simply a great combo of stock and sling.

Actually there is a perfect turkey gun ;) The 870 Max Gobbler topped with an Eotec holosight

that is a beauty looking gun and some nice looking harvests début. It looks to have all the features I was thinking about!! - but also non-current I'm guessing. What do you have on the stock - some kind of cheek weld gadget?

I got a Benelli Super Nova 12 guage, camo pattern, 26" barrel, and use the regular full choke ( I dont think the turkey choke is needed). The Benelli is a great shotgun, a bit pricy, but a Remi 870 - with adjustable chokes - would have been my second choice.

Ammo ? Winchester Supreme 3" shells in No 5 shot. This combo, for me, has been deadly. I guarantee that you can drop a turkey at out to at least 30 yards with it. I bagged a nice Jake in the fall - at about 30 yards - and the shot pattern was all neck/ head.

Remington teamed up with knoxx and realtree to put the Max Gobbler together in 2007. You can get the knoxx stock aftermarket for 870. The cheek piece is also a knoxx product, the "power pack". It gives a better sight alignment with the optic.
The steadygrip stock and williams firesights on a stock 870 is a pretty versatile combo as well.

This is mine. It is an 870 express with a cantilever barrel which is 20 " in length with interchangeable chokes and a Bushnell Trophy 1.75-4 X32 Turkey Brush scope. Killed lots of turkeys and a few Yotes with it.

I saw a replacement camo 870 stock at WSS the other day when I was in there. Didn't see who made it but it was real solid. Might go back for it actually.

God I love being a gunnut... I have taken 9 birds with my original 870 with mod chokes and zeero mods... Now out of nowhere I just decide I need a camo stock, turkey choke, saddle mount and red dot... Lol... I'll post a pic when its done... May have an oem stock to get rid of if someone is looking to do home camo...

they'll be that much deader!!

535 meets your criteria...specifically the 3-in-1 package (for value..since you don't have a 12ga).

22" Turkey barrel (fibre sights)
24" rifled barrel with cantilever mount
28" barrel
interchangeable chokes (comes with four and a wrench)
3 1/2" chamber
pump
5+1 capacity (using 2 3/4" shells)
mag plug included

picked mine up for $595+tax...

Why pay for one shotgun and get one shotgun when you can pay for one and get three?

My perfect turkey gun is a 1910 Fox A grade 12 gauge 2 3/4 inch chambers, 30" barrels and choked full and full. I've killed turkeys with 3 other guns (Rem Wingmaster, Win M12 and Browning Double Auto, all 12 gauges) but this is my favorite.

I have photographic evidence of it killing turkeys from the 1940's right into the 21st century. This gun has every intention of killing turkeys until at least 2040. (I'll be 83 then LOL) Thinking positively, it hopes it will then get another 40-50 years use by my son killing turkeys.

Oh yeah, I also think it will handle zombies with aplomb!

Sounds like a shotgun born and bred to kill turkey's! I hope it does get you through to 2040 and beyond :)

OK.... after a few trips to the EE and about $140 spent without further ado.... my new turkey slayer....lol... I had an 18 year old 870... my favorite gun of all times (first gun I ever bought for myself... I packed many a grocery bag to get that coin).... old look is first two pics... I apologize for the fugly chair.... my aunt bought it for me and it is down in my workshop and gets pulled upstairs when she comes to visit....

I bought a Bushnell trophy red dot sight and rings as well as a realtree stock and forestock.... I added a saddle mount with see under capability in case the batts let me down in the field on the site.... also an oem remington turkey choke...... nothing overly special but sure can't wait to get out for birds again.... I'll include last spring's first gobbler pick for fun....

Nicely done - looks great. Like the old realtree camo pattern too!! what was it branded "trebark" I think???? I had a one-piece coverall in same pattern -- wish I could still fit into it :)

lol.... yeah... treebark.. I have had that suit since I was 18 (19 years)... I am struggling to find a realtree jacket that isn't insulated so that is what I wear..... it used to be oversized to fit over stuff... now it fits just right....lol.... you have to move when you hunt birds so it is important to have something that isn't too warm....
