The price of the sks stays about the same over 50 years!

Heres an ad from 1962 shooting times magazine that lists the "currently used Russian arm" at $250. That is over $1900 today with inflation! I wonder what the future price of these rifles will be... I'm posting these ads to drive people nuts ;)

I'm more interested in a Bazooka for $19.95!

Yes it was catured during a spy exchange at the berlin wall

Not far off.

Interarms had access to all kinds of wild stuff due to the "connections" of its owners.

I think Egypt got SKS at some point, hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

A Russian SKS in 1962 would be a pretty significant addition to a serious military rifle collection, and $250 would have reserved it for only the most well heeled collectors.

Ammo would be unobtanium. Better be a serious re loader as well.

More SKS started to show up during the Vietnam War, but it wasn't until the early 1980s they started to come in quantity, and mid/late 80's for large quantities of surplus 7.62X39.

That must be where the officer in Vancouver got his info on the rarely seen SKS . Back then the cold war meant almost none would be brought into the US. About the only arms Russia was looking to export into the US in 1962 were a few ship loads of Nukes in October (and not the friendly unarmed kind either!) they even named a crisis after it lol.
