Carbine and non-restricted aren't words that go together in Canada.

As long as you define 'carbine' as having a barrel length of over 18", non-restricted works perfectly!

But I guess a 'true' carbine has a barrel length of what, LESS than 16"?

It would still be restricted if imported as a carbine. Make it a pistol anyway so at least you get 10 rounds. Take the stock off and show a picture of a guy holding it like a pistol.
