I consistantly shoot 3" or better 3 shot groups @ 300 yards with my XCR-L in 6.8 SPC loaded with my Barnes 95gr TTSX + 30grs H322 + Rem LR primer brass + Win LR primers + crimp with Lee factory crimp die = 2825fps.
This group was shot using the back of my quad as a rest distance was 347 yards that I shot in actual field conditions second pic is the view from the quad to the rock which is located center of the pic about 20 - 30 feet to the left of the top of the light coloured log.
Yes one bullet hit low left just missing the rock beside my thumb.
I have just started working up loads for my XCR-L 223 upper Barnes 62gr TSX + 25.5grs Varget + Rem brass + Win SR primers + crimp with Lee factory crimp die = 2800fps I am averaging 3/4" 100 yard 4 shot goups, haven't had time to shoot this load further also want to try and increase the velocity to 2900fps if I can and still retain the accuracy.
I have one target with this 223 combo that I saved but haven't taken a pic of it yet.
I'm thinking that the majority of XCR-L owners are not mounting optics that allow for precision shooting and/or they are shooting crap loads basically you can't group anything if you don't spend the time making it work first...
I shot 2 mule deer with my XCR-L in 6.8 SPC with the above 95gr TTSX loads this fall first was a 2 point mule deer buck @ 166 yards the second was a anterless mule deer shot was 80 yards both were DRT.
Here is the first one my son shot the other buck with his old 270 Weatherby loaded with 140gr TSX @ 3230fps.
and yes it is awesome to pack/hunt with a non-restricted semi-auto rifle...
So in other words I totally recommend getting a non-restricted XCR-L...
