I don't know if everyone is aware of this, but there is a guy in B.C. (on the left coast of Canada) , in Houston, that is a direct seller of Pacific Tool and Gauge products.

Gary Eakin carries the complete line of Pacific reamers, gauges and anything in Dave Kiffs inventory.

I hope he gets the support from your shooting community, that we give Dave Kiff down here in the states.

His prices are the same as PT&G and he's as honest as the day is long.
His shipping prices can't be beat anywhere in the provinces.

His web and business name is Bighorn Sales.

Help him out if you can.
He's a great guy to deal with.

Bob

He was a member here. Reamerguy was his name, IIRC. He had adds in the EE.
Cant find any signs of him, so wondering if he ran afoul of the 'dealer advertising' policy here. Or the search engine still isn't working for me.

Had been meaning to check on some reamers with him.

Cheers

Thanks Bob

I just need to make things a little clearer, I have most items available from PTG we found out last week that the Department of State does not like our idea of having everything PTG makes available to Canada so Kory and Dave @ PTG have been working on finding out what we will be able to have here in |Canada and what we can not. I am building my inventory weekly but have a long way to go , i am focusing on PTG products to start so i can carry on PTG's reputation of Excellent products and great service . Reamers are something we will never be able to cover very well as there are so many variations and with PTG now offering standard(straight) flute as well as spiral flute HSS /Carbide Solid/|Removable Pilot and TIN coating there are too many variations to carry anything in stock except the most popular chamberings.
I am still having a website developed and have been at a stand still until i hear from Dave about what products he can ship.
I will keep everyone posted here on Gunnutz and hope to have my website up in Late January .
Thanks Gary Eakin

Search it was, I guess.

Prices on reamers? Same as PTG site? Aprox. turn around time for something not in stock?

I'm going to want a .17 Ackley one of these days. Gonna have to figure out the details.

Cheers

Gary Eakin is great to deal with. Lots of communication so there shouldn't be any surprises when the purchased products arrive. I'm waiting on some stuff from him now. As soon as he gives me an amount, I'll send him some money.

Thanks Bob

I hope you didn't draw heat on for the rest of us who deal with Dave and get tooling put on the black list with the state dept. It "was" one of the last few items we could get out of the states with ease.

I'd bet a quarter on that the State dept does not want us to be getting those nice replacement bolts that PTG makes. Scary gun parts!

I wonder, sometimes, just how much business those guys have put the stop to, vs how many jobs they created shuffling paper and producing nothing else.

Cheers

Hi Trevor,

Our government is being run by complete idiots when it comes to gun parts. I think they are afraid of Canadians because they really think that your society is to violent. I kid all my Canadian friends about growing up clubbing baby seals and how one of your politicians was eating caribou organs.

Common sense has gone to hell in both countries.

A&Shunter Adam the heat was already on that is why Dave and I have been working things out for over 6 months now, it should not affect tooling at all but they have come down on PTG as well as most other suppliers lately on most anything to do with firearms .

PTG has foreign orders sitting there ready to be shipped but has not been able to find out whether he is in compliance or not and we have heard of fines of $20,000 + being issued to companies that had "all " the paperwork in order . So everyone is being xtra cautious at this time .

Obtunded , No plans for JGS as i have not seen anything they have that PTG does not. And i feel as well as thounsands of others that PTG builds the best reamers in the world as well as many other firearms related items as well as many more comeing :)

TrevJ Yes same price as PTG only in CDN dollars and for now have a $5.00 ship to anywhere in Canada pricing special on removable pilot reamers Turnaround time i can not say as it is all over the place , PTG's shop is super busy and they did not get the slow period this year they expected . On custom grinds which most removable pilot reamers are they say 2-3 weeks i am seeing more like 5 weeks right now ,again we are working to speed up the process a bit.

Bolts did someone say bolts....... Not sure but definatly one of the areas of concern :( more news soon on that..

Nanuk Yes

Thanks Guys for the questions and concerns.

Our society IS violent. Lynchings, assassinations, insurrection, daily occurrences! The Government run media suppresses all that though! :D

In reality, if what I read awhile ago is true, we got the US beat on violent crime by a few percentage points, if we look at it from a per capita basis. Less crime over all, but fewer folks to get the evening news sound bite from, too. Good news does not sell much air time on the 'news' hour! Bad news keeps them coming back. I can't be bothered to watch the 'news' any more.

I can understand the desire to keep the firearms tech out of the hands of them that would buy it to send off to their cousin on Jihad, but truly, the level that it has been taken to, the complications it has created, and the threats that are faced by the companies in the US that break these rules, whether knowingly or not, is just a bit over the top.

All this has me wondering if there is a business model in making a deal with the owners of the information, and making the parts here in country, rather than shipping them in. I know of an outfit outside Calgary that has some kick-ass cnc grinding equipment, and just about anyone with a CNC milling machine can make bottom metal and the like. Just have to get the stars to align, sort of thing.
I don't think we have quite the critical mass of customers to get there, though. So we endure, eh.

Cheers

shipping problems

Wakey, Wakey

Most of the problems are NOT the Canadian government!

It is the US "Home Security" people and trying to get an EXPORT permit.

Canada harbors terrorists, doncha know??

gary eakin

hey I guys I can vouch for gary also , I have never met him in person but have talked to him on the phone and ordered stuff from him awesome guy very helpful and no B/S . I have recently purchased a new lathe to try my hand at chambering and the help that Gary has given me with advice and info I feel would have taken years and a fair bit of coin to acquire.
