I would even go for an individual informal user permit from the state dept. that would already have you pre-screened and would allow companies in the states to do business with an individual. This way all parties could easily track trade and if "Joe Smith" bought more weapons grade plutonium than he could personally use himself he would be red flagged and have multiple complimentary body cavity searches.

The fault lies with the Liberal government of Jean Chretien.All allies of the US were offered exemptions from the export laws when they were first brought in.Chretien's Government declined to apply for the exemptions.Therefore the US can ship proscribed items to Britain or Germany but not Canada.Thank the Liberals,don't blame the US. Hey guys, I eat at Timmy Hortons, I wear a red jacket, I camp out at Cambodian Tire and I'm learning to say eh!! when appropriate.

I am one of the few Americans that actually know that you don't live in Igloos!!!

The real problem, with the gun trade, is both governments trying to control their citizens. When the citizens are armed, politicians tend to get nervous.

Like your country, most laws are passed by the people who live in cities, because of the density of morons living there. It's the same here believe me.
