The reason you bought your last handgun?

For: to good a price to pass?
look cool factor?
training?
"I never owned one in this caliber before"
IPSC / action shooting sports?
zombies?
incurable collector?
"limited run, had to get it before they are gone"?
it was what I could afford at this time?

How about "for ####s and giggles"

Sorry, didn't realize this would be used to convince your wife.

-didn't you hear that they won't be selling handguns after Aug.1? Until then they are having a 2 for 1 clearance sale, gotta buy two though.

There ya go.

I bought my last Inglis Hi-Power as a parts gun, but it was in such good condition I kept it as a shooter.
Now I can just keep thge collectible HP's in the safe...But I Don't! :D

I recently bought the Sig 226(9mm) after reading Mr Ayoobs book on the Sig Sauers.
Also got a good price on a rebuilt unit.

I found a trick to convince my wife : When at a gun show, I buy a set of reloading dies for a given caliber that I have no firearm for at a "price that was too good to let go", then I argue that I need a gun to fire the given caliber, and this will not be too expensive since I will reload for it.

So far, it worked for .44 Magnum (S&W 629), .45 ACP (1911), 9mm (92FS)

So... I would put this in the "I never owned one in this caliber before" category,

Plus the cool Factor (S&W 629)
Plus the zombie defense

My last handgun purchase was a mint condition Colt series 70 GoldCup.

I had a series 80 GoldCup in stainless & really liked it. The 70 had less than two boxes of ammunition through it, the price was right & I wanted a blued 1911.

Now my collection is complete; ------------------"For Now!".

Rod.

Reason I bought the last handgun...the 226 didn't fit my wife's hands properly. Also, the glock was a better deal. so went with the glock. she likes it better, her shots improved.

well i bought the sig because i shot it well and i mean, it just looks hot, then the S&W model 60 just told me too, who was i to argue?? now i just have to figure out a way to convince the old lady that gunstores dont give out recipts, i had to find a smart brunette, shoulda went for the dumb blonde :D

Had a chance to get a Valtro mod 1911 for a good price. Getting close to retirement age and have to get a few of the "Toys" before pulling the plug.

Being as you are approaching retirement age, you should stop using terms like "Pull the plug" as it tends to upset some retired (old) people.
