the Rem 770 rifle

just wondering if anyone has tried one yet, or heard good or bad about them.
i se they replaced the model 710 with it. 710 was sure a mistake.

We just held a vote You are The official tester for this one so go buy one and try it out.Report back and let us know how it goes.

I cant see how it will not be a huge success. Apparently they tuned the 710 so the bolt will actually extract a cartridge after firing, and a magazine release that does not break off as easy.

to quote Remington on the 770

the Model 770 is the quickest route to legendary status,

that is enough for me to be sold on it :onCrack:

The 770 is 60 more than the 710! 60 is a lot so I expect anyone who can add will figure out just how much a number can improve a rifle.
I expect the next new POS Remington will be called the 4400!:runaway:

If ya think the 710 was a mistake stay away from the 770 i think its identical besides slight differences in the stock. I made the mistake of becoming a former 710 owner.:puke:

I was in Lewiston, Idaho, last week and visited a few stores with a friend who was looking for a rifle. Sales guy at one of the stores tried to sell Jerry a 770. I told him don't even think about it. Sales guy says, "Oh they have really improved the 770!"

He then proceeds to operate the bolt from his shoulder to show how easy it works and the bolt jammed. He puts it down and tries again and the bolt comes right out of the rifle!!!!! All three of us laughed and he began showing Jerry a Model 70.

Flew to Anchorage, AK, on Monday and visited a few stores with another friend there. No one even tried to show us a 770 there...............:D

yeah wanna cheap rifle buy a savage i've looked at them and the acutrigger to me is a strong seelling point

one thing i didn't find out about it is it is also a safty mechanismas the leaver disengages when it is pulled back when you pull the trigger it allows the rifle to fire safly evenwith a vary low trigger weight making the rifle safer

however it still is a mechanical system follow all the safty protocols in the CFSC and maitain control of the rifle at all times mechenical systems can fail
