The Remington Model 521-T

Found one a while ago dated from 1948. Metal was good but the stock was well used. So I refinished it. Turned out really nice I think.

Thanks, I stripped it using Kleanstrip, washed in off in water using a scotch pad, steamed out a few dents, sanded with the grain with 320/600, washed it off again, dried it, and applied multiple coats of watco danish oil, wipe off, dry over the span of a week. Wet sanded with 600 on few coats at the end. The more coats the shinier it gets. Drying takes a solid day and then at the end a solid week so there is no tack.

Going to shoot it one of these nights I’ll report back.

A bit windy but managed a couple 10 shot groups at 50 yrds tonight. The second group appears good with 7 of the ten in a nice cluster.

Man they used nice walnut back then.....look at that tiger graining.
