1977 quality from the big R. Picked up a nice 20" magnum 3" rifle-sighted barrel off the EE to complement it. Perfect.

Thanks faustus.
I’m always a sucker for nice old blued steel and walnut guns. If it’s been shot I cannot tell. Hopefully Remington can get back to these types of firearms in the future.

Yes, me too .... I would love to see Remington produce that quality again .... and I would be willing to pay extra dollars for that quality. But right now it seems, Remington is just trying to get as many guns produced as quickly as they can .... and what comes out of the Ilion factory right now does not look promising .....

:(

This is an absolute gem , did you recently purchase this NIB old stock?

Or were you saving it for the last 40 plus years?

Either was thanks for posting its gorgeous

Another beauty. Almost a twin to the “Brushmaster” you posted previously. I tend to prefer parkerizing but the blueing does add something to the aesthetics.

I disagree on the checkering. Although not hand cut, it’s functional, classic Remington of the era and complements the look. I’m not sure I’ve seen hand cut check on a pump gun. Lots I haven’t seen.

I love the fleur des lis checkering on the old Remingtons ! Don't care how it was put on. Also like the high gloss finish. I have a weakness for this era of Remington.

Beautiful example of "Golden Years' workmanship. I once had an 1100 in that condition, but when I moved to Can had to sell due to LGR - sometimes I wish I had stayed in OH, but look at Mr-T - what an A-H. I'm still catchin' up to my old battery. Don't have RPAL so the pistols are still out of reach - and may remain so if the Turd stays in power.

will you stop to post those findings and helping others to remove them from your hands ...

congrats again to show us some great shotguns and proving that the wingmaster is and was a such great shotgun mostly underrated because of remington on it ...

Nice guns but the heat impressed checkering is hardly a show of quality in fact it’s ugly they did it on rifles as well,a cost cutting measure

I tend to agree. Not a fan of the pressed in checkering personally. Here is a video the Rem fans will like...factory tour from 1969 showing how they are made.
