So I get a return on a M46 in 9.3x57 from a client who claimed that the bolt was "defective". It turns out that the extractor would not rotate freely when cycling the bolt as the collar was stiff. 2 drops of oil under the extractor collar and it was as good as can be. Client decided he no longer wanted that gun and went with something else instead.
I felt sorry for this Swedish blonde, sitting on the rack, feeling "rejected". She is 80 years old, but she looks 25, and a virgin
(not drilled & tapped, bolt unaltered etc)
So I decided to give her another chance.
I loaded up some 9.3x57 Norma brass with 46.5gr of Varget and 250gr Accubonds, seated with an OAL of 3.066.
I was not expecting too much considering the fixed plain open sights. However I was so pleased with the 50 yard results, that I tried at a 100 yards and here is the 100 yard result:
OK so I got a flyer out of 5 rds, but considering that the front sight "bead" covered the whole black portion of the target, I am so pleased, that I will bring this one bear hunting this spring.
I have had very similar results with 45gr of H335 and 285gr Prvi.
