The RT M14 Assault Sight

We're very excited about this one.

The M14 Assault Sight is a front sight system that is designed specifically to work with M14 type rifles with shortened barrels 18”-18.5” long. The sight features a fully hooded front aperture that encloses an adjustable for height front sight pin 3/32” in diameter. The sight system places the aperture at such a height that no modification to the rear sight assembly is required to set proper zero. The M14 Assault Sight system is designed to thread onto a barrel that is properly threaded to the 1/2”-28 standard and lock in place. Then any .30 cal muzzle device that also uses 1/2”-28 threading can be mounted in typical fashion to the M14 Assault Sight system. Muzzle devices can be changed as well as the gas system cleaned without disturbing the front sight zero. Assembly is made from 4140 tool steel.

It's a great idea to have the threaded end as well to allow for some interchangeability.

Pricing should be in the $100 range, I'll know more in the next few days.

Dovetail was considered but this design allowed us to make the front sight post adjustable for height.

Well, I sure had good luck with my thread-on sights, so this should be pretty effective mechanically speaking.

The ability to screw the flash hider on afterwards is a nice touch too...this is like the high-dollar version of mine!

I would, however, question the wisdom of using the word "assault" with anything M14s related. It just gives the "anti's" and liberals more opportunity to mislabel the M14s as an "assault" rifle and then have it banned.

If you haven't finalized all the design details you might see whether or not you could set it up to be adjusted with the SKS front sight tool. Those are cheap and readily available.
