A few months ago I bought a SAM Titan and a SAM Thunderbolt both in .45 acp. When I engage the thumb safety on the Titan and pull the trigger there is a little click and the hammer drops maybe .010 and when I disengage the safety the trigger pull is around 3 - 3.5 lbs and if I don't use safety about 6 lbs. The safety is not properly fit in the gun.
The next pistol I could not break it down for cleaning with a bushing wrench. Finnally got it apart in a vice with a hammer and a piece of delrin 1/2'' rod and an assistant. What I found was the back of the bushing was binding against the full length guide rod. Removed .015'' in the lathe from guide rod and problem solved. I know if I fit a new thumb safety in the Titan it will be fine. Just wonder if anyone else has had issues with S.A.M. guns. BTW at the range they did work fine with the Norc ammo I had. Just curious.

I noticed that the internals on my SAM weren't to spec. My sear and disconector were way out to lunch. It's fit and finish with everything else was amazing. Just shows that your not the only one. I fitted a new thumb safety on mine, and it took a lot more fitting than any other 1911 I worked on. Had to dremel a bevel into the frame hole and file back the inside of the safety lug to fit around the inside of the frame. This in addition to the normal fitting of the lug to the sear leg.

Yes you are right about some parts not being up to spec. The hole in the frame for the thumb safety is not the same on mine either, and the hole in the frame for the mag release is smaller then other 1911's I have.
