the season so far

well, the 2005 season has been excellent so far. got my whitetail already (in the pouring rain).

spent a lot of time in the mountains, found 7 ewes but the rams are in the timber some where.

found 5 little bull elk (gotta be 6 point).

and went chasing goats for a while, it was a great time, backpacked in, set up camp, then hiked and glassed for a few days. found 12 goats, all does and kids though. saw a 4 pt muley up there too but wasn't about to pack him out.

going to miss the rest of the sheep and elk seasons due to work, but have 2 weeks in november to find the king of the mule deer.

thanks for the compliments guys.

the rain did turn to snow as i was dressing out the buck. there was about an inch the following morning but it was gone by noon. it was interesting to see the snowline move down the mountain throughout the day.
