Hey fellas,

I am considering getting an SKS over an AR platform gun. If I go that route I'd like to add aftermarket stock to it. I also figure this thread could be useful to current sks owners looking to upgrade their current stock.

Please post up pics and info on what is currently available or what you like and dislike when it comes to aftermarket sks stocks.
 
Good idea, my favorite one yet is the Archangel SKS kit, but there are many more choices, we stock almost every stock kit & accessory for the SKS, HERE.



 
Ok guys, what stock is this on my sks-d? Bought this thing for $100, just trying to figure out what I've got. The only marks in the stock are where it says "pat pending."

Edited to add:

I bought the Archangel stock to replace the busted factory stock on my SKS-D. It's a little on the heavy side but the ergonomics are good.

Tapco, nice modern looks and functions great after grip removal mod.
ATI Monte Carlo, great cheek weld, sleek sporter type look.
Timbersmith, sharp looks, beefy feeling forend. A bit too pretty maybe?

Do not like:
ATI Strikeforce, comfortable, but flimsy grip. Anemic looking forend.
ArchAngel, poor impression of CZ/VZ type rifle. SKS is not black rifle.
ATI Dragonov, PITA to install/strip, uncomfortable. SKS not a bench rifle.

this pic from Russian forum topic few years back. Guy was making and selling these. Is it possible to ship stock from Russia to Canada?
 
My only problem with a $250 stock is the fact i paid less for the gun! Lol

They do look good though. Most likely the route I would take if I needed a new stock.
 


I like the ATI stock,it is comfortable,goes small enough for my 9 year old daughter to fire,and long enough for me to fire,I have fitted the steel vented handguards to the ATI and my non matching SKS now.



I like Dad003's AK style stock also.

Well, could you source which Russian forum and which person ? Well, as long as the guy is willing to ship then I don't see any problem coming to Canada. It's just a stock, basically a wooden stick.
