While I can not speak about US Army Snipers, I have shot with a few US Army Marksmanship Unit members. It is not uncommon for the Marksmanship Unit to send shooters up to Canada to shoot the Canadian Fullbore Rifle Championships in Connaught. One year when there did come up the CFRC was one of the matches used to help pick the US Palma Team. Great bunch of shooters and competitors, and the AMU was well represented on the US Palma Team. On a side note, none of the shooters from the US AMU use rifles that would be considered sniper issue. I believe most of them are shooting Barnard's issued by the AMU.
