The built-in accelerometers can detect the angle of the shot, and make corrections accordingly.

I don't think recoil will be much of an issue. It's likely mounted on some kind of spring mechanism. And besides - it's a KAC product. Do they do ANYTHING wrong? ;)

nice. I wonder how it'd hold up to recoil?? Not very well, I think.

Assuming the soldering on the circuit board and components is of quality material and work, they should hold up to the recoil no problem at all.

Cheap electronics come apart from shock, literally.

Given the abuse I've put my buddies iPhone through, I can't see the iPod touch not acting right.

yep, a little pricey....but in comparison to other high end software packages it is right in line. When you get it you get a laptop/desktop version as well as the mobile phone/windows based. I use mine a fair bit and they are constantly sending me software updates as bullet technology changes as well as scope's and reticals oh ya its shows you hold overs based on the type of scope you use. It is an excellent program in my opinion. I shoot and hunt long range and when I utilize my Kestrel for weather and wind the accuracy of this program is outstanding as well as the support behind it. Some programs do some things better, but as a total package I like patagonia. Having the ability to have the same program on my computer as well as in my Palm for shoots is an asset for my style of shooting.

This being a Black Rifles part of the board It may be overkill for your inside the 400yrd mark rifles, but for your upper end AR's and Sig's where you are reaching out and accuracy counts it would be the cats arse in my opinion to be able to make fireing solutions in the palm of your hand inputing weather and wind variables as well as ammo.

I think I'm gonna buy the KAC one for my Ipod Touch. Should be interesting once I plug in my numbers for my bolt rifles. Lots of fun at the gopher fields!

Heck, I've blown $12 on WAAAAY more useless stuff. :)

I looked at the iSnipe program, but I think the KAC one is more refined.

I have both and the KAC is a really nice program. I have been messing around with it and its fairly bang on to my real world come ups that I have alrady logged.

If anyone is thinking of using the iPod touch in the ballistic calculator capacity then I highly recomend the case thats in the picture. It's made by Otterbox and it's extreamly durable not to mention fully water proof and dustproof. I've been using mine for sometime now with no problems. I've even used it with some H2O audio ear buds completely under water. It's the cats ass.

I just bought it last night - however - the Canada iTunes store only has the 1.0 version, and apparently 1.1 is already released in the US.

Does anyone know if updates to purchased applications are free whenever it's released? I hope so.... my scopes are all in mRads, and the option for that doesn't exist in 1.0. :(
