The speed Garands are going at is insane!

I have a Danish/Springfield Garand with a serial number of 534###. ;-) I bought it for $300 several years ago and plan on keeping it until they go up in value enough so I can trade it for a Valmet .308 ;-)

TomZ

p.s. yeah, it shoots GREAT as well ;-)

I just remember trying to sell my VG original GI postwar rebuilt Garand several years ago without any fair offers. Everyone told me that if it didn't have "DCM papers" or all WW2 parts then it had NO value.
It had a 2 digit number stamped on the barrel therefore others said it had NO value because they didn't recognize the number, it must be a "re-import mark". Other BS'ers looked at the reciever and because the parkerizing changed color from front to back declared it a worthless "reweld".

Today I am glad that I didn't let those jerks talk me out of my rifle, and I have no plans to sell it. :D

Uh - J.P. - before you start ranting about how out to lunch Hitzy is on his price estimate, ask aacollectible for a price list, as your prices are out to lunch. I just finished building an all-Italian Garand for 500ish. Just gotta shop around man!

I've had no luck with aacollectible getting back to me through this site.
thats another matter alltogether.

Prices for Garand parts are like housing prices in Alberta. Going up like mad,
so if you want it you better buy it now.

What kind of parts?

Well depends on what kind of parts you're looking for - even extractors for bolts are expensive... I'm only buying NOS stuff, so in the long run it will be more expensive than a shooter grade, but atleast most of the rifle will be original WW2.... if you want shooter grade stuff, usually ebay has this and that for just shooting... bmb op rods go for about 50-60 US if you just want something to shoot. Actually NOS Op rods/barrels go for 300-500 US easily, but historical value they're worth alot to some  Once in awhile you may get a good deal on used barrel as well.

Lol

Yea I know... I wrote to him and asked for pics anyways... wouldn't know what to actually offer on something like that since I've never owned a Beretta.... but either way 1500 is definately a steep price for a Garand. Maybe another 10-20 years it'll be worth that much? Lol.

It probably has a really nice bayonet.

Absolutely true...when you own it, it's worthless...when they own it it's priceless...well said.

Red Dawg, Suck it up Buttercup, but you won't find a mint M1 Garand Winchester for $275 anymore, ha ha ha!!! It's called Garand Mach 2 Warp Speed these days....:D

But hey, keep on "singing the blues" about how cheap Garands were in the past and what they cost now! It's an old record that gets played over and over...
