Have yet to get the Mosin out to the range, but very excited too, it needed a fair bit of cleaning with all the oil and crap on it but not too bad, would like to refinish the wood stuck, they are rather worn and banged up but am deffintly afraid of making it worse lol

Always up for more hints and tips on these two rifles, love the SVT and the shop I bought it at cleaned it up very nicely

your going to need more ammo than that one box

btw, i suggest you either buy surplus or brass cased ammo. Don't spend your money on that MSF stuff.

lol the purple "pom pom" is my wife's hair clip, and the wed 40 has some 2000 uses they say!

I did buy a tin of surplus, but off hand this is the only non-corrosive stuff my local shop sells

Also, the guy from budget shooter supply where I bought the surplus ammo was fantastic and I defintly recommend going through there, I will in the future since I am considering doing my own reloads

Friend, don't "consider" reloading: just DO IT!

Really, it is the only way.

What you do is learn something fun and the end result is match-grade ammo which is crafted to YOUR individual rifles.

You end up with LESS recoil, LESS wear and tear on your rifles, LESS wear and tear on your shoulder, BETTER targets and you SHOOT MORE and SPEND LESS.

And if you're hunting, your critters are JUST as dead and the hole is where YOU wanted it to go, so you get LESS wasted meat.

Seriously, if it were not for handloading, I could not have continued in this sport, much less have enjoyed it for the last 50 years. I am sure that there are many others here who are willing to say the same.

And be sure to have fun!
