The new Steambow AR-Series B08 Tactical Crossbow is now available at True North Arms — and honestly, this thing is pretty cool considering it needs no license to purchase.
At first glance it looks like some sort of futuristic tactical crossbow platform, but the interesting part is what it actually shoots: 68 caliber balls.
Foam balls. Polymer balls. Paintballs. Training rounds. Pretty much anything in 68 cal.
Unlike traditional CO2 powered launchers, the B08 runs off a crossbow-style limb and string system, meaning no cartridges, no gas pressure worries, and no waiting around for seals or CO2 to cooperate. Just #### it, load it, and go.
The platform uses Steambow’s AR-series design, so it feels familiar in the hands, and the upgraded quick-change limb system makes swapping power levels dramatically easier than older generations.
The standard setup ships with lighter 35lb limbs, making it easy to use for recreational shooting and training. But for those wanting a little more “gusto,” we also brought in the optional 150lb hunting limb and string combo.
