The Steven 200 should be banned

Awwwe, I missed the fun again!

The vid showed a couple guys blowing up a Steven 200. In one frame the gun was there and the next it was completely vaporized .... as in GONE!

I still say it was a chemical explosion caused by the tasco scope.:p

Isn't that the take-off barrel for sale in the EE?:D

Woah! Thanks for the picture Paul. That was quite the destructive test.

Now, if that were in Canada, how would one go about getting that rifle de-registered?:slap:

I know the Stevens is not an expensive gun, but some people have more money than brains.

I gotta agree with Buffdog.

I had a guy actually argue with me recently over the "danger" of the public having access to rifles, and talked about this video and others like it as proof of his view. I tried to inform him of its' inaccurate depiction of the qualty and safety of hunting rifles, but he was determined in his belief, based on these videos, stating that," The eyes don't lie".

For those of us who know better, it may seem rather funny. But, to the general public who are ignorant of what the fool did to actually get that result, it merely affirms our oppositions arguments that rifle and shotguns are too dangerous, and shouldn't be allowed in the hands of our citizens. This is an image/attitude that we are always fighting, and these videos will always make it harder for us to convince people otherwise.

It doesn't matter that the video was staged to get exactly that result, it will still be used against us as damning evidence to take our rights away.

I'm not trying to get on anyones' case about the matter, that's not the way I am. I'm just repectfully bringing up a point that I'm sure a few of us have been thinking of.

Amazing then how the insurance rates for gun clubs are less then Volley balls teams. Ask him why his Car insurance is not less then $20 per year?

And how in our world of digital cameras, and youtube there are so few documented cases in comparison to the millions of successful and safe rounds sent down range every year.

Should have bedlinered the stock. Any gun i have bedlinered, the gun has never blown up.

...............i am serious.

There's some truth to that. I can't remember the show but they coated both sides of a concrete block wall and placed a bomb on the one side. The Rhino liner prevented the walls from blowing out and collapsing, basically kept everything stuck together.

You were ahead of your time! :)

Someone as ignorant as that isn't going to listen to reason anyways and will base their information on what they want to believe instead of rational truths or explanation.
