So far we've got three threads on CGN on two forums, all originally from business members talking about how we might acquire these fine rifles.
Now those threads are each wandering off topic in various directions and it's getting harder to keep track of the latest intel, so I thought it would be more convenient if we could consolidate the interests of those of us who are currently Stg owners, and leave the dealers' threads for folks interested in buying.

So this is an 'all inclusive' thread for anything StG that's not about buying and selling those guns. Post your pics, offer your insights/ideas, express your concerns, ask questions, post some lynx...let's start sharing some information.

I have one still new in the wood crate.
It looks so nice in there I just can't bring myself to shoot it.

I you ever decide to sell it you'll get a lot more for it in the EE if you take it out & shoot the crap out of it .
A few ding's & scratches can only add to the value as well ;)
Mine also came in the wood crate , I'm thinking of making a copy of the crate but full length
Anyone find spare mag's in stock anywhere ?

Use a (non-magnetic) boresighter...

Heh, well, normally on semi-autos where I can't see through the bore, I use a magnetic boresighter to give me an approximation of how close my POA
coincides with the bore's 'POI', but when I tried that with my Stuggie I couldn't get the magnet to stick onto the muzzle! Other boresighters are available that have a rod that slides into the bore instead of using a magnet, but if you don't want to shell out ~$50 for one of those, try this:
Take a large piece of cardboard (>2'x4') with a target in the centre, out to <25yd (10yd might be better) and carefully put 3-5 holes in it. You should be at least on the cardboard. If not, get a bigger piece.;) Then adjust your sight accordingly. Usually your first group will be 'on paper' or close enough to work from. My experience using the boresighter has been that the image you see is not quite the reality you get at the range, but it is a convenient way to get it close in the comfort of your own home. Then you go out to the range and confirm it with live ammo (see above).

Crate it "Lite"...

That would be a cool way to transport your Stuggie to the range, as long as the crate itself is not too heavy.
You don't want a twelve pound crate to lug a ten pound rifle in.

The last time I checked with Grumpy he had mags in stock, but that was days ago. They were not in his catalogue--
he wanted a phone call. I imagine more will come available now that the demand is exceeding the supply.
Eventually.

Hmmm... I phoned Blue Line last week and talked to a Dave who told me he is the GSG distributor.
He seemed more interested in distributing than he was in retail sales. Did you order anything from there?

Bought one of these o month ago and absolutely love it. Just ordered an AK underfolder for it, also might look at machining a new shorter barrel and moving the sight to the fake gas block. I think a "paratrooper" stg-44 would be a neat handy truck gun.

The kids and I love this thing. Wanstalls had plenty of mags when I got mine.
