I have seen this done with a few other Milsurp guns on this forum, such as "Find your missing serial numbered bayonet for you Mauser" or "Find that mismatched piece" threads... but surprising I haven't found any thread for assisting those looking to find the magazine for their SVT40. Maybe my google-fu, or search-fu is weak, or maybe nobody has actually done it. Either way, no thread was found.

So shall we give it a try? Post up the serial numbers on your mags, or the serial numbers you are looking for. Maybe this community of tens of thousands can find that matching mag for you.

I've got two mags.

#1) Currently stamped as 1967. Before that it was stamped 1267 which is lined out. Originally it was stamped as 4213, which is also lined out.

#2) Currently electro-penned (EP'd) as 4200. Originally stamped as 3354.

Looking for ПO 641 or ЖБ 5004 .

NOTE: Not a selling thread. Simply a thread looking to hook up people with mismatched parts, in order to find matching parts. Please for the sake of the mods, keep all negotiations in the PM side of the forum.

Okay I'll play.

Magazine: 870, electro-pencilled 281

Magazine: 1812, EP 3903

Magazine: 4964, EP 1301

Magazine: 6269, SA stamped

Rifle: 254

Rifle: 371

Those are what's in the safe; the rest are buried in secret locations. I mean, what are you talking about the Registry's gone; I don't own any more rifles.

Bump, with Lever's incredible $199 sale on SVT-40 rifles, there must be a pile of new serial numbers to potentially swap.

Like I need any more SVTs, I couldn't resist at least two more. Now I also have:

Magazine: 1641, electro-pencilled 399[n] (n is either 5, 6, or 8; sloppy EP)

Magazine: 5976, re-stamped 4136, EP 4273

Rifle: 3529

Rifle: 4914

(Any matches yet?)

Looking for: rb4882
have(ep):Kn6442
stamped: 714
3
MN2881
763
would be cool if someone found the originally stamped mag!

Howabout this one? My mag has no number. Never has..and it's not ground down or anything like that. Not even electropencilled, just the number 913 scratched in the paint. The only factory marks are a couple of tiny stamps..a P, a star and a tiny circle with the letter H inside. Anyone else have one like this?

I just learned that the tiny star(1.5mm) stamp is sometimes used to identify Tula made items....maybe this mag was made there too?
