The T97 Thread!

Ya I see what you mean. You have to have the pics online somewhere .... Maybe photobucket, or dropbox? not sure why you can't just upload a pic, maybe so the forum doesn't have to host the pic, just link it?

I try mine for the first time today, shoot great but it is normal that is almost impossible to load the rifle when the bolt is open ? I'm just able to load the rifle when the bolt is close. Anyone have the same issue or know how to fix that ? Thanks.

after insert the mag, pull it out a bit if there still a little room.......

Ok I will try that but it's maybe the part that hold the mag open that is too long because when I seat the mag the first round almost came off the mag.

so my friend just bought one of these and we went out today to have a little fun with it.

my first thoughts:
- it's heavier than I was expecting.
- it's louder than i expected
- the kickback was less than i expected.

I really liked how compact it was and we were using it with the sights that it came with.

we were shooting canadian surplus .223 ammo and we found it was denting one side of the case a bit. there were also brass filings inside where it ejects the rounds from. upon inspection the roughing looked to be coming from where the extractor pulls the spent case out from. There was scuffing evident on the spent rounds on the ground. has anyone else experienced this?

over all a really fun gun. makes me want one too!

First time shooting a rifle? Lol

nah, but I am new for sure!

I had also fired his rem 700(bolt) which is the same caliber as this one. it didn't seem as loud by comparison though.

Why am I having such a hard time finding gen 2 pmags? using the factory mag sucks!

HepatitisJ, I cut down a picatinny rail (used the one that came with my ruger 10/22 as it is very thin) and cut it short enough to slide the T-pod on from the trigger guard side. I just drilled straight through the hand guard to bolt the rail in place.

I had the pleasure of shooting the t97 on the weekend. Very first shot I got nailed on my chin with brass (lefty). Oops forgot all about the bullpup issue. Sliding my face back works but then it feels in un natural.

I thought the SKS launches brass....at least it's consistent in where it shoots it, it's all in a 3' by 3' area 30 feet away....

The recoil pulse is weird. It's a very long and gentle push compared to other 223 that punch you abruptly.

Friends t97 had the issue of pushing the bullet in the case but only with one lar mag. Sure enough that mag sat lower in the magwell than the rest. I told him what the solution was, he's not a CGN member

As of now I'm on the fence. Honestly I prefer my su16 more. It's much lighter, optics are easier to mount and I don't get punched in the face with brass.

I got it from an airsoft forum few years ago, it was a real steel one tho.....very hard to get right now :( I wish there are more of them here so more T97 owners can have better options for mounting accessories.
