Got a hold of a T97 last month finally finished it to my liking the other day.

Got the FTU on it, added Magpul MBUS, eotech 552 I got on the cheap, and a side poly rail. I also modified the feed ramp as per the post earlier in this thread and it completely solved the common feeding issues it has (all of which were caused by loose fitting mags). Sling is just a hella-comfy laptop bag sling I've had since 10th grade. I would really love to find an original QBZ95 lower handguard for it, anyone know of any that might be sold anywhere?

I have searched a lot for the subject post but couldnt trace it out . Will some friend , very kindly direct me to the post mentioned above eg how to modify the feed ramps

My experience: fit/feed/drop free

Mag that comes with it DOES NOT WORK, failure to feed every shot. Drops free

Gen 3 PMAGs are too tight and WILL NOT fit or feed properly.

Gen 2 PMAGs Fit and feed very well. Will Drop Free

CProducts Defense .50 Beowulf magazines fit, but are loose in the magwell, sometimes causing a FTF, not a huge issue and is fixed with a bit of tape for shimming. Drop free

LAR15 pistol mags and XCR pistol mags fit and feed well. Some drop free, some do not.

Elander mags fit and feed, and drop free.

PCV .50 beowulf magazines fit and feed after some modification, do not drop free.

Dominion Arms magazines fit, but do not feed well. 1 FTF in every 10 or so shots.

These are all the mags I have tried with my T97.
 
My magazine happenings are not the same as above ^

Best mags I've got are IMI .50 beo with a slight working of the spine.

Factory mag is great, dominion mags are great, PCV mags are great.

Only had issues with c products mags so far.
 
Here is a list of mags that I have tried .

Stock T97 mag -horrible luck with this always fail to feed seems too loose but drops free.

C-products lar 15-best fitting mag so far no FTF and drops free .

PCV 50 -Very hard to insert and remove from the magwell and sometimes FTF

Magpul p-mag g2 -so far no FTF fits nice but does not drop free . Might once they are more worn in .
 
To add to that, I have a bunch of Hera-Arms 5/30 rnd magazines.
Also very hard to insert and occasionally FTF
 
This question is for all you T97 owners/lovers out there. What made you pick it over other red/black non restricted rifles in the market now. Having such a hard time between this or a vz58.

Compact size , looks , can use lar 15 mags and beuwolf mags . Other then being picky with mags and a bad safety location I love mine . Best non restricted black rifle for the price I think . I would def get the FTU for it though .

Heard about issues with 5.56 VZ58 and I love bullpups. I do want a 7.62 VZ but my T97's will always be my favorite
