The taste of wild turkey ?

1) damn tasty.. first bird home per year does not even last 4 days at our place

2) They can be very juicy.. just don't over cook it (as with any wild meat)

3) I thinly slice , batter and fry mine.. (Breast) wings/Legs and other go to soup..

(I don't even go through the effort of plucking just take the breasts/legs/wings.. too much work other wise ;) )

Have you ever tried a Smoked Turkey? It's done like a ham with brine and a smoker:

That photo is awesome

The most turkye's I have seen is the area around Cranbrook, but I have also seen them in the Okanagan areas of west of Westbank, and I am told by follow Gunnutz that those tasty critters are plentyfull around Vernon also. I read in www.HuntingBC.ca that the area east of Osoyoos towards Mount Baldy also should be good for hunting turkey. I guess the trick is to call them in the spring season.

I've seen a lot around the Invermere area.....mostly in neighbors backyards and such...a buddy bagged one in skoomum a few days ago. I'm going up past horsethief creek tomorrow..if I get out early enough hopefully I'll be able to at least find a roost or something,
