The TAVOR

Whats this Norinco i keep hearing people talk about?

Lever Arms brought in 5 of the Type 97.

I have asked Dr Van Nostran to bring one out ot the TAC shoot so I can photograph both for an article for the new CSSA magazine.
WHAT!!! You dont know of the new CSSA mag? Better sign up for a mmebership right now.

the Tavor is a much more refined design - safety location, optic option, chariging handle position etc. There had been iimprovement made to the original since the distribution to IDF in 2006 and the Indian contract. So I think we are getting all the latest improvements here.

THe norinco type 97 has a pretty aweful safety location and charging handle. The polymer used is a bit on the soft too. But it goes with a sub-1000 bucks price tag, I can tolerate some of these inconvenience.

What magazines does the type 97 use?
Chinese propritary or AR 15?

Seems to me mag availability and price would make or break the deal.

If I can get a sitter, I'm gonna make my way up to Thompson Mnt to check this out!

I'll bring my 8.5" from http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154997 !

Korporal you are certainly welcome to come out, but please note we will only be shooting rifles at the match. I should add that any spectators who wish to shoot (the Tavor or any other gun) will need to pay a daycard fee. Match participants will be exempt from this requirement as they will already have paid for a day's shooting. :)

Great.
I used to be a member way back, before all the improvements.
I may just skip the daypass and buy a membership again.... and bring a rifle! :D

Sunday

Come to Gothmog's Tactical Rifle match on Sunday May 6 and you can shoot it. Bring your own ammo if you want to run a stage or shoot more than a few rounds.

Pleese, take alot of pictures, and give us an idea of the accuracy potential of this little wonder!

How many units did you expect to receive in your next shipment? Did they are all spoken for?

I can't sleep since you started this tread!!!:bangHead:

Regards,
Eric

For those interested we will also have a 4-pay system. 4 monthly CC payments. To help ease the burden on the wallet and marriages. We are still working on the details.

All kidding aside, the timing couldn't have been better! I'm most likely getting a new job in the coming weeks! I might just have to take up a loan! Can't wait to show off on ARFcom !!!!
