Just curious on how a shippment of 4,000 (or whatever the #) Tavors is viewed by the "Authorities" when they arrive. Is it always a hassle or are they used to such things?

I am so tired of people making statements - "oh, this looks evil, it must be prohib!" "Oh, this looks kinda like an AK, it must be prohib".

The law is no mystery - Canada is not something 3rd world dictatorship. yeh, they can do something to you administratively to slow your down if they have a bad day - but by large there are LAWS.

I am very tired of these statements- I don't know why people are so negative. Educate yourself. Knowledge is power. I jsut read another thread on the chinese rifle - I could not comprehend this attitude at all. No wonder for many years people think bullpup is prohib, even before there is factual evidence their minds go automatically into the negative denial mode without thinking through..

Will the folks in the Calgary area see one of the demo guns before the shipment arrives? Do I need to sign on for purchase to see the demo?

You are correct. I think a lot of times, people simply hear or read what others have written online, or where others have voiced an opinion online and they absorb, reword, and regurgitate the same thoughts without thinking critically about the source.

Opinions online are cheap, free in fact, so we have an overwhelming surplus of them. On a site like this, or any other site, you'll always have a proportion (sometimes larger than other times) of members who are just talking with no idea and no real world experience in the areas they are arguing about. People simply like to agree with what they think is the prevalent attitude at the time. Ignore all that.

Basic rule of thumb, if someone else online has said it, a million others believe it, you don't have to be one of them. Read up on it, learn something about it, learn the other side of it and if you still support it then post, if not, counter it. Nothing wrong with constructive criticism.

As for these guns, evil? Just decide if you want one and why and talk about the specs of the gun. Nothing else really matters, they are both legal in Canada. Occam's Razor boys.

The other bottom line, the more of the Tavor coming in the better. The authorities don't look at them any different than a shipment of cars, they are simply products for a consumer market that has a governing system of regulations and they are there to ensure those regulations are complied with for their 8 hour shift. The more we get here ,the more the price will drop, so those of us not willing/able to spend $3000 on one can eventually afford one.

Like I said it just Sarcasms comment, don't take any deeper, the last thing I wanted to do is offended some one.
I do know Constructive Criticism do go too far some time.
