I'd argue it's not as important in a revolver, only timing is really important (I'm making some assumptions here and the previous comment could resemble flatulence if spoken aloud).
Actually, revolvers are generally more accurate, but that's due, at least in part, to the fact that they have to be hand fitted to work at all. I heard a story (and I can't verify it, so take it for what it is) that Smith used to give their revolver fitters a test, they'd give them a revolver to fix that didn't work. The trick was that all of the parts were within tolerance, for what they were, but due to the tolerance stack, the revolver wouldn't work at all. The fitter had to spec each part, and then change out the parts to ones that would work with each other.
Sig Sauer 1911 Scorpion feels tighter than my STI Trojan. But my Russian Tokarev, surprisingly has a very decent frame to slide fit and locks up nicely too!
