Well we're up to 1300 rounds so far and the damn thing is still running. Had a squib round from the Czech surplus ammo, but noticed the puff of dust come out of the end. fortunately i had the barbaric cleaning rod that came with the gun to smash it out of there.

a few minor changes to the gun to make it faster. or whatever. bevelled magwell and super-cool-look-at-me custom trigger.

I did shoot some video showing the recoil comparison between the Tok, and a 9mm and .40 cal, and i'll get that up soon.

Now your giving me ideas.My nork seems to be running fine too but i prefer the hungarian tok.
Did you ever get around to making those wood grips?
 
nah, i wasn't happy with the color of the wood so i abandoned the project for now. i'd like to get some kind of reddish colored hardwood, but i'm not sure where the hell to get it.

the bevelling looks rough, but it is polished smooth and is functional. i wasn't worried about affecting the value of this particular gun. i plan to keep it.

the trigger puts it miles ahead in style for sure.....lol
 
I also have a Tokarev and it is one solid gun. Takes a little getting used to for handling but it's no big deal. I have never had a problem with it. Nice to read your progress on giving it a workout.
 
If you want a red hardwood, look at some Mayan Bloodwood. I had a set of grips for the 1911 in this wood and they looked pretty sharp, but eventually just went with a black/grey laminate.
 
i really like the "thinness" of it- makes much less of a bulge in your jacket than say a 1911, yet you still have a 9mm or 7.62, not that i carry concealed, or carry, period
