Bought this 1971 MU-8 the other day. By no means a show gun but appears in good workable condition. Parabolic chokes, 26" barrel, single trigger. I'm scared to take it apart to give it a good cleaning. Anyone have one of these?

Interesting find!
- You might be able to find more information on them if you search using MTs8
- They were made by TSKIB SOO, which nowadays is under kbptula.ru

As far as working on them, they are pretty straight forward. Caption Obvious: Make sure you have the correct thin bit screw-driver... it would be a shame to bugger one up.
- They are not that common, than again, I don't think any Mts shotgun is common on this side of the pond.
- The few (2x) I've heard of for sale (in the last 20 years or so) were two barrel set (1x trap and 1x skeet)

Thanks Mike. The screws do need a thin bit alright. The gun cleaned up well. I still need to clean the parabolic chokes as they have plastic wad residue. The triggers break very nice. Overall I’m glad I bought it as it is the most beautiful Russian mail order I have received.

Found it listed in a 1983 gun values book. Baikal was the importer in the 80’s and had them listed. Whether or not many were sold I don’t know.

So here I am …. Green with envy.
Had the chance to fire a MU6, and have always wanted one ( or an 8) since.
Robust and functional…. Beautiful.. not so much
Shot like a hot damn.
Lucky you!!
