Don't forget, in order to keep an exclusive contract like that, you actually need to sell the rifles and keep ordering them from the manufacturer. If prices jump by 20%, I imagine there would be a slowing in sales, and the company would loose the exclusivity agreement as they are not maintaining the required order volume.

I swear, some of you guys need to read a book or two on business management.

Yeah, nice thought, isn't it?

But like AR180 shooter says, they have to sell to keep the contract.

Tavor prices are lower with North Sylva doing the importing, aren't they?

Yep. They have greater buying power, and are thus able to keep the cost per unit down. Same thing happened when they took over importing CSA VZ-58's... the retail price went down by 10%.

My questions:

SFRC show 61 in stock (yea, I know)..... when would the pre-order be shut off? Will Norinco be able to fufill the orders? Just what changes would be made to the "stock" photo being used?

I gave up on this gun about a year ago (being prohib), now it feels like Christmas for real!!!!!!!

That's the "remaining stock" number from their second pre-order batch. I imagine "0" will be the end of it, as it was for the first pre-order.

Anybody know if this is the 95-1 version with the relocated selector switch and improved ejection? I fired the original version in china and hated the location of the selector. The trigger was better than on my tavor if I remember correctly.

$1,000 for a Norinco? Man, this is quickly becomming a hobby I can ill afford. Good luck to all of you who plan on buying one. I guess I might have to pick one up on the EE for $1,250. :p

AT one point the web site showed 13 units in stock. It then showed 61.

Will Norinco be able to supply such a large quanty of these firearms with keeping up to quality control?

Weren't the last ones being brought in a 97B? I definitely liked the looks of the older one. They are both ugly, but the previous version looked a lot more menacing.

I suspect they're minimum capabilities are hundreds of units per day. I'm more concerned there won't be enough ordered for them to warrant "tooling up" for a Canadian batch.

It's not a terrible looking gun, but I need some convincing about quality. Nice to see it back, though. Norc cares more about our market than a lot of other companies haha

Just pulled the trigger at SFRC. . . .24 left when I ordered 30 Min ago now only 9 left. . . .Craziness. . . . I wanted one of these first time around and never pulled the trigger. Glad I didn’t now knowing they went prohibited. I have a good feeling about this batch ant can’t wait till spring!

They're already tooled up as they produce the Type 95 and Type 97 for both domestic and foreign military use. All that is required is a slight redesign of the trigger group to make it Canada legal.

Norinco. Quality control. Man that's the best joke I've heard in a while.

Well considering Norinco supplies the chinese military along with a whole slew of 3rd world militaries I'm pretty sure they can handle the 10000 rifle appetite of the canadian market lol
