While I imagine the folks at Cabot Guns put together a wonderful product, this is the most aesthetically challenged POS I have ever seen:

American-Joe-Flag-Grips2.jpg

And check out the grammatically-impaired and overwrought ad copy:

America was built on hard work, innovation, and freedom! The American Joe 1911 is forged out of the same principles. This gun is a symbol of “American exceptionalism” at it’s finest. The tire tread “USA” represents the speed of the bullet leaving barrel as well as the Detroit Automotive innovative spirit which is at the heart of America. The wings embody a burst of Freedom as the tire peels out shifting into a Web pattern that is traditionally Tattoo on the elbow and is fitting as the pattern on the slide. (the elbow of the gun) A spiders web in nature is one of the most complex patterns and is broken-down everyday but built back up every night. In America we continue to build just as our forefathers did for generations. The American Flag hand grip represent the strength of this country as the hand wraps around the magazine with fortitude and resilience. This gun is built purely in America and shaped out of the finest block of steel. The American Joe is a true Red, White and Blue representation of the Glory, Romance and Legend of the 1911.

I think our American cousins have every right in the world to be proud of what they've accomplished, but this is the nastiest, gaudiest, most jumbled "tribute" to their nation I've ever seen. Jesus, tire tread, feathers, and spider webs? And who knew the slide was "the elbow of the gun"? Or that gripping the pistol was done with "fortitude and resilience"? All these years I've just been grabbing mine.

And they'll sell like jelly donuts at a Grateful Dead show.

Look good while going broke! Lol the Canadian one would have a barrel twice as long and be made of beaver teeth grips and have a picture of the queen where it says USA.

The Canadian version would probably have so many warning labels there'd be no place to engrave. The grips would probably be mandated to carry a copy of the Firearms Act or criminal code with bold print on all the parts that tell you how bad guns are and how using them lawfully makes you a criminal.

They would probably have an engraving of Wendy Cukier or some other fear mongering wingnut scowling or wagging their finger at you also.

That really is brutally tasteless design, trailer park style. Ouch. And the ad copy is right in keeping with it. I love the reference to Detroit Automotive Spirit as the heart of America. Have they seen Detroit lately? Sheesh. What are they thinking?
