Its usually catching the thumb on the right hand is what is referred to as 'Garand Thumb'. I have no idea why his left thumb would there.........(other than he was in a total panic at being over run by the enemy)

Must be painful but nothing to compare with a AG42 thumb..... The former owner of my AG42 had a finger crush by the bolt, the rifle didnt have an empty mag in place...ouch!

I've never had this problem with a garand mine have always pushed in and clicked and then I've always had to manually push the op rod forward. Heck I've even tried to let it go forward on it's own and they won't.

Old tired oprod spring. After replacing mine the bolt drops as soon as I take pressure off the top round.

Op rod spring is new. Replaced all the springs when I got it with wolfs springs. I'm not to worried about it, I don't mind giving it that extra bump every now and then if I have too.Seems to happen less and less the more the enblocs loosen up.
