The Ultimate SKS (for me)

Cz/vz are nice , but sometimes I think the SKS is a more workable platform .
How many SKS have had problems( the same thing / problems)... over and over again.

Have to admit the SKS's are tanks. A seriously though rifle. In some ways I think they are even slightly more rugged than an AK.

The CZ/VZ certainly has had a couple issues over the years.

SKS just keeps chugging along though....................

over 8000 rounds thru this one ...just sayin(and it still hits a 12" gong at 160 yards regularly)

My Boy shoots it better than me lol

over a grand for a tricked out SKS ???? wow guys I gotta say it's kinda like putting Gucci on a pig ...... if the grand isn't buying accuracy.... it's a waste of money in my opinion.
toys are what they are tho so go nuts with yer fun :)
but for an sks......... not for this kid.

I can see upgrading stocks and sights/scope mounts but if I was gonna go nuts to truly build up a worthy SKS I'd be replacing the barrel with something of quality before doing a bunch of mirror commando stuff to it LOL

You guys are right, why not just leave it a $200$ rifle with just a few dollars of upgrades. Personally, the trigger has to be done with minimum a spring kit, second the sights! Minimum the front post has to be changed with the Tapco target post.

As you can tell, mine posted above is not cheap and might as well get a cz 858 or type 97 for the amount I've put on mine. It has a 19" barrel job with metric AK slant muzzle brake.

Leave it stock with just a few basic mods I say!

Finally the seven six two mag release system is up for sale on their site check it out w ww.sevensixtwosystems.com
this looks very promising and a worthwhile upgrade IMHO

Have they become a licensed CGN Dealer since the last time you hotlinked their product?

Not interested in bubba, not interested in collector leave it stock. Functional and practical upgrades only (if needed).

- start with a 54 Izzy laminate

- trigger job
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMSEWSDeprQ
http://votefordavid.########.ca/2008/04/improving-trigger-on-sks-rifle.html

- trigger over travel stopper
(as in this thread) http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/935013-Project-RatRod-SKS-shorty

- mojo rear sight (have yet to try though, mine have Tech 200's but thinking I'd like Mojo better, concerned about peep being so far from eye)
http://www.mojosights.com/sample-page/ak-sks/

- Tech Sight target post
http://www.tech-sights.com (click on accessories)

- TrueShoot Technologies front sight Gen.2 (remove bayo obviously)
http://www.trueshottechnologies.com/sks.html

- AK47 slant break
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/20-TC-AK0684

- Blue Force Gear standard AK sling
https://www.blueforcegear.com/ak-sling.html

- flush cup sling mount on right side of butt stock

- stock fixed mag and stripper clips

- 40 ft sea container full of ammo

- only thing that would make it better is if our damn country shoved its 5 round limit up its bore hole ..

Far from stock, far from bubba but really useful upgrades imo.

We have over 1000 accessories in stock. Everything you need, ready to ship, HERE.

Basically it allows you to use regular tapco or similar mags with or without the duckbill, thus allowing you to change mags with the same ergonomics as a ak rifle without having to break the grip of your trigger control hand.
It also allows you to sort out stoppages as rare as they may be with a sks lol, and using the tapco mags without the duck bill you can fit them into mag pouches for 3 gun and such if so desired . It also needs no mods to your rifle itself just replace the existing mag catch and install the front spacer if you wish to mod your mags. And its ambidexterous mag release like a AK ,so basically they have turned every sks into a d model but using regular and plentiful mags.

This sounds a lot like the G3 system which has been in production for some time.
We should have some available by early August at a very nice price.

They will work very nicely with our new extended mag release system for the SKS.

ACTUALLY ITS COMPLETLEY DIFFERENT heres a link to their page for the video www .sevensixtwosystems.com

its smooth just like a d model without the price tag the nice part it works in any standard sks even a Chinese , mags are cheaper than ak mags and readily available .
the release is not extended its ak like in function so no re positioning of your trigger control hand = less fumbeling around during mag changes .

Hical whats the price of the G3 adapter and the cost of your extended mag release ?

Not sure about hical but I have 100 of my new extended mag releases for the SKS in hand and almost ready to sell. The first 50 will be offered at a door crashing $39.95 and will go up to $49.95

G3 adaptors I hope will be available mid August and under $100. For the sake of clarity I should point out that the G3 uses a Tapco mag with most of the duckbill cut off. The down side is the 5 round capacity, but the upside will be the fact that no mods will be needed for the rifle itself. Also the truncated mags fit pouches better and are easier to handle.

G9 adaptors have an eta of July 31 and are $139.95 ... these are the adaptors that allow you to run 10 round pistol mags in your SKS.

We just are doing the AK-SKS Mag adapters, we have them in stock & have perfected them for the AR style XCR 10 rd pistol mags, we also do the installs & conversions. For the Tapco conversion or the extended mag releases, i would recommend the other Dave at Mag wedge, he is doing both those products.

I checked the sevensixtwo FB page their system looks easy to install, there are a few vids up now too showing mag mods and install and product is available now. Prices look reasonable for what your getting, might not be for the purists but it definitly has some good benifits imho. I looked at the g9 and Hical offerings but for me the mag release is on the wrong side of the unit and a bit on the pricey side but looks good quality wise.

I was following the extended mag release from Magwedge and a few others but I have really short fingers compared to most and still would have to break my grip to release the mag lol
