the ultimate Yukon rifle ... your thoughts

That is beautiful!

Ted

:)Bears a resemblance to a certain piece of wood I purchased from you. After seeing it I had planned to use it to re-stock my Moose hunt 'ditch chicken' single shot but I have since 'parted' with that to Ian.;) May end up using it for handgun stocks which was the the original intent.

very beautiful nice light wood.

Now, it's your turn to start posting pictures in Zastava fan club thread.

We gotta count to see who's got more Zastavas, you or me? :d

I shot my first Zastava about 37 years ago, and they still work for me.

Biggest surprise to me was when I found out how popular they are in South Africa.

Lanis task for tomorrow.

btw i ve seen more in SWA now Namibia than in South Africa but i think i met more fellow there than in RSA.

my first zastava left handed was around 30 years ago. a shame i sold it. i paid more for the mounts and optic than the rifle.

anyway i will post in the right thread for some zastavas in left handed.

The 30-06 is adequate when used properly, Phil. As you know Marg got that huge bison bull with two 180 gr lung shots, standing offhand at around 150 yards, and it was all over in seconds. Nothing lives long with shredded lungs.

The same day, not far away, another bull needed eight or nine rounds, first from a 350 Rem Mag, then a 300 Win Mag and a 338 Win. Good shot placement is always the first consideration, and if a hunter is afraid of the rifle, or not familiar with the anatomy of the animal, things may not go well.

A 30-06 in the hands of someone who knows how to shoot it may not be the Ultimate Yukon Rifle, however it is certainly adequate for everything from sheep in the mountains to bears and bison in the bush.

Can't disagree with that I carried a 30-06 for years and have never not had it perform on any game I have ever shot but...

There are times when I am packing a 30-06 now when I would prefer to be packing my 300RUM or 375RUM never have that feeling in reverse.
