As the debate continues between the anti-hunting community and those who believe in the "Conservation Through Hunting" model, the unheard voice is the rural African who must live among the wild animals. It is these people who are most affected when politics supercedes science in the management of wildlife.

Worth a Watch...

As with most issues, follow the money, this applies to all sides, the no hunting side has it share of contribution's and organizers to keep working and the professional hunting guides need to keep the hunters rolling through. The only ones in Africa that would have no say are the ones with no money the subsistence hunters.

Everything has to pay its way. When animals no longer pay their way through Safari, they have no value. Every country in Africa that has tried doing away with hunting has seen decimation of wildlife populations. Literally slash and burn short term agriculture followed by desolation.

Thank you for the post. I appreciate hearing from the people that actually live there. Unfortunately presenting a fair, honest and equal discussion of the topic is not something the Anti's are willing to do. My sense is that if/when the Anti's manage to shut down hunting these same people will be coming to everyone with their hats in the hands begging for charitable donations to help the poor people in Africa that are now starving. And they will look for a new scapegoat to blame for the decline of wildlife numbers.

Thanks for posting. I am constantly having to explain conservation through hunting in my business. Most folks (non-hunters) who are open minded will listen and get it. After all it just makes sense. The hard left who have made up their minds seem to ignore common sense regardless of how it is presented to them.

I am happy some appreciate the video & the message.
Been over to Africa a few times, and always enjoyed hunting there.
Also witnessed just what happens to wildlife once the hunting is shut down.
They disappear in a hell of a hurry.

There very much is a message here for North America...

Cheers,
Nog

I am really green to hunting, and have never really given its politics much thought until a few years ago. I just remember seeing pictures in the news about some controversy about people going over to Africa to hunt animals...I didn't really understand it myself at that time but also never bothered to look into it. Since joining this sight and reading some threads that KMG Canada posted, I am starting to see the bigger picture. This video helps with that, thanks for sharing.
