The Varmints are coming!!!!

Yep, I have filed away the sharp edge there. We'll see how that goes. It now looks a bit like a feed ramp on that front edge.

Not to sound like a d1ck Shaun, but I called you about seating the 77gr bullets deeper after the first of the ftf issues arose. On your advice, I seated them deeper. As far as pressure is concerned, I see no signs. After I first tried the deeper seated bullets, I was very meticulous about looking at the brass. For the next 100 or so rounds, I looked like a chipmunk scrambling around picking up the fired brass and inspecting every piece. I am satisfied that there are no pressure signs.

What metal magazine would you recommend I try over your polymer magazine? Just asking.

Edit: Opps, I may have spoke to Dustin and not yourself initially about seating the bullets deeper. I see that you're not at ATRS any longer(?). Sorry, I don't remember if it was you or Dustin.

My statisics so far are 7 ftf in 200 rounds chambered. I was hoping to run the MV in a competition this Sunday, but alas... family commitments will keep me from the range on Sunday. I will try again on Saturday to see how the filing job affects performance. I'll keep you informed.

I would trust Dustin's advice on the seating depth, my apologies, I thought you were just shortening them arbitrarily.

Just about any of the standard usgi metal mags, the 5/30's, or even try a lar15. The metal mags have thinner walls is all. If inventory hasn't changed, we should have one metal 5/30 in stock ($25?) or several other site sponsors should have them.

Andy , PLEASE LET ME know how you make out. On many polymer parts there is "flash" left from the molds as you have seen and once this is removed things tend to work better.
I think what Shaun was meaning in regards to metal mags is that the material thickness used to make the mags is considerably thinner than what is required with a polymer mag, which will allow you to seat the heavier, hence longer bullets out a little further than what a polymer mag will allow.

EVERY rifle that we complete has 20 rounds run through it with the mag that it is shipped with, HOWEVER we are only running AE223 which has the 55 gr FMJ bullet loaded in it.
If you are still encountering issues bring some of your ammo in with the rifle and we can fine tune it as required.

This fellas is what the rifle looks like with the Noveske NSR handguard. It makes her a slim and attractive rifle if you ask me. She still is a little heavier than I am used to since I am used to using a 14.5" and 11.5" AR but if ATR comes out with a 6.8 or 6.5 cal upper, I will sell every gun I own and use this exclusively. Wish I could get her on a scale to see what the weight is. Haven't decided if I am going to use my NF 2.5x10x32 or just an Acog 4X on her yet.

That's a beaut! Very similar to what I'll be getting eventually. I totally agree with you about a 6.5 or 6.8 . Never used an ACOG, but think a rifle with this accuracy potential deserve some higher magnification. I'd try the night force first!

What's up with all the bi t c h ing on the other thread? Why do people call these $4500 rifles , aren't they listed for $3350???
And FFS if the company who makes them , don't want to sell certain cals, then that's there business. If you don't like it, then don't buy it. Or buy it and shove whatever you want on there.
Lol just gets annoying reading all the crap.
ATRS, delete this if you want.

As a manufacturer/dealer we can't always say what we think. Apparently we are held to a higher standard.
Why so many claim our rifles are so much more expensive than what we charge for them eludes me as well.

Also there are a few caliber which we simply are not going to offer, mostly wildcats or 7.62x39, but we are looking at a few possibilities in the future. Much will depend on getting the reliability to a point we are happy with and also demand. Until we have done our testing nothing more is forthcoming on alternate calibers.

I think the disconnect comes from people feeling like the Basic is NR DPMS Oracle at 4x the cost.

It's easy to look at and forget it has a match barrel, match trigger, and a JPSCS all standard. I know some part of me feels this way subconsciously but then I have to remind myself that the basic is not basic, rather it just does look basic and has no cosmetic/ergonomic upgrades.

I really do hope you guys can offer .300BLK, it is the only caliber that interests me as I do plan to have one of Herron Arms .300BLK Tavor kits, and also a ACR .300BLK kit.

Great looking rifle, is that a medium or light barrel profile?
