The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

Nice day to get ready for fall

1oz slugs

Drop tubed 45gr of Goex ffg into about 250 38-55 cases. Compressed a quarter inch with 0.060in wads cut from cork gasket material and seated 280gr soft cast bullets from a RCBS mold thats had the gas check groove removed.
Ran out of bullets after 180 so have to cast a pot soon to finish up.

Reloaded on Sunday:

- 350rnds of 9mm 124gr Campros behind 4.1gr of Titegroup at 1.125" OAL.
- 30rnds of 40SW 180gr Campro behind 3.2gr/3.4gr/3.6gr of Titegroup. Forgot the OAL.

Went to chrony them today but the damn Chrony was acting up with my makeshift lighting system. I kept getting an Error 1 and odd Error 2 every so often. My 9mm loads were all sub 900fps which had me scratching my head 'cause that did not seem right. Met a guy at the range who wanted to chrony some new ammo he was shooting so I let him have a go. He also suspected ithe chrony was not accurate. Fortunately he had some match ammo he'd chrono'ed before and knew they were in the 840fps range, those were recorded as 709fps avg. So even if I tack on say 130fps to my recorded readings, I'm about 10-20fps shy of making minor. ARGH.Time to consult the books again.

Got through 370 rounds of match ammo and ~350 rounds of practice ammo before this happened ...

Yikes! Time for a warranty call.

Called Dillon, warranty parts on the way including free delivery. Got to love blue! :)

Good thing I have a 550 as a backup. Thinking now I should upgrade to a 1050, have the 650 as a backup, and the 550 for load development ...... Hmmm, the kids didn't need to go to university anyhow did they? ....:dancingbanana:

1050's warranty isn't as good as the 650. Thats what stopped me from buying a 1050 when I was shopping.

Loaded my batch ever today

Probably loaded 200 rounds or so of 9mm, took longer than it should but I`m still tweaking the setup and finding my feet so being super cautious

Haven't reloaded anything for a month or so but I do have 900 143gr. ELD-X 6.5 mm bullets and 5 pounds of H4350 sitting on the shelf ready to go.

Reloaded 500rnds of 124gr Campros @ 4.1gr Titegroup at 1.115" OAL. Back to my old load just to get by the next IPSC match tomorrow until I can properly chrony my last load at 3.9gr and 4.0gr Titegroup. Then again, I'm looking at switching over to 147gr.

Got some IMR 700x so decided to make up some test 45LC test loads using 250gr Campros. 10rnds with 4.6gr, 10rnds with 4.8gr and 10rnds with 5gr 700x.

Humm, does 700x meter well for everyone? I found one powder drop will be 4.6gr, next will jump to 4.9gr, next will be 4.8gr, back to 4.6gr etc. Basically had to check each drop. This on my Hornady LNL AP. I'll give it a try on my RCBS powder meter next time and see if it's the same issue.

My best groups with Campro's and 700X are with 4.6gr but I prefer CFE pistol for best results. That's out of my Pietta 1873.

As for metering 700X, nothing beats a Lyman #55. My other powder mesures don't come close with flake powders.
