The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

well I've been slacking

Last night loaded up 25 rounds of 577-450 for my Martinis then I sat and drank beer in my shop.

its a bit of a process, huge case, not a lot of powder so there is an added step of adding filler.

Going to try some .22 hornet for the first time tonight. Have done 2 tests with flat bottomed projectiles (35g), and they seemed to work no problem, I had read lots of stories of crushed cases, and the die set doesn't really flare the mouth much or at all...

last night I did case prep

about 200 more rounds of misc 303 range brass.

this is step 2, step one was inspect and cull the over stretched ones

ended up culling a few more while full length sizing them.

they are all in the tumbler again today to clean up the primer pockets and clean off the sizing lube.

perhaps tomorrow I'll trim them all and prime them.

Finished up a few 70 grain .223's this morning:p

I loaded up some "Oxy-Moron" loads yesterday. When I was in Lethbridge at the gun show a few weeks ago I bought some powder-coated cast projectiles. The only pistol powder I have is "CFE Pistol" (Copper Fowling Eliminator), which is entirely not required for cast projectiles. It took me some searching to find loads for that reason, but last week I was able to find loadings for the 124gr projectiles [4.4gr min - 5.0gr max] and take them to the range for testing. I found that they all cycled without issue and had no pressure signs or other visible problems. My 4.8gr loadings had the best 10 yard groups, so I loaded up 200 rounds with that (all the prepped brass I currently had). One of the big reasons I got into reloading was to burn up the winter, and there is no better way than loading pistol rounds using a manual scale and a single stage press :p
