The "What Have You Reloaded Today" thread

Range day tomorrow, tonight is spent on case prep for the .577 Snider. 20 new Jamison cases and 25 Magtech. This is for case forming. One pass thru the sizing die to form the neck. One pass thru the expander die to flare the neck to accept the lubed .578" bullet. Then load the cases with 50 grs FFg. Seat the bullet.
Head to the range and SHOOT!!!

I recently acquired a MAS36, but feeding it seems even more difficult than I expected. I haven't been able to find any brass for it, but reading online said it isn't too difficult to reform cases for it. Now, the internet also said to use 6.5x55 brass, but I don't have any of that (I'm on the hunt for some EDIT TO ADD I just found and bought 100 pieces of 6.5x55 from Budget Shooter Supply :) ) so I went with some 270 Winchester since I had 100+ pieces of brass but no rifle that uses it. I made 20 rounds to test the other day and there is definitely some case swell near the case head which tells me I won't get many loadings out of each piece of brass, but 270 and 30-06 brass is really easy to come by and disposable. The important part is that the rifle fed, fired, and extracted without any issues. I failed to take any pictures of the completed rounds I built, but here is the steps I'm taking to convert the brass

Note to add: I use plenty of lube and for the "first press" I remove the decapping pin/centre pin since these cases are excessively long. I then do a rough trim with a mini pipe cutter, then resize the case again with the centre stem of the die intact. Lastly, I trim to length on my case trimmer and deburr

Brass prep on some .243 Winchester cases. Deprimed, necks chamfered and deburred, primer pockets and flash holes cleaned, tumbled in dry media, wiped down, lubed up, and run through an RCBS full-length sizing die.

Waiting on a box of 95gr Ballistic Tips on their way from Prophet River. The "stand alone" case is unsized for finding the lands (crude Loctite method) and determining COAL. Have 3 pounds of Magnum to try as it looks to be a winner in .243 Win.

Two reloading successes in one day! Found a a load in 6.5Creedmoor using Ramshot Big Game powder.5 shot groups at 100 yds of 0.75", Hornady (sized x3) brass and FedLR primers.
And finally a good load for my Irish Lee Enfield with 5 shot groups 1" to 1.75 inch at 100yds. Unfortunately it was with SMK bullets which are unavailable currently. Several other bullets and weights (Speer, Hornady,PPU) were tried with minimal success.

Loaded up 40 rounds of 7.5x54 French/MAS today using converted 270 Win brass (see THIS POST above for my resizing journey for those) and put them in my newly designed boxes. I did a much modified version of WW2 ammo packets the French used, but I like the way it turned out. I need to get thicker paper next time I'm near a stationary store like I did for my 303 British boxes as these ones are quite flimsy

Got my 8 year old depriming and priming...used it as a punishment for talking back. It backfired - she loves it. Damn. We'll see how she does with chamfering the primer pockets.

Did another 50 222Rem last night, prepped 50 222 Rem Mag and the same in 223. Found a bunch of 7x64 brass I forgot I had, so got those started as well. Started taking apart my old Lyman 1200 tumbler, the motor finally dies after nearly 40 years and untold thousands of brass run through it. Ordered a motor online. Luckily I have a second smaller tumbler. Spousal unit goes away, I get a lot more done, for some odd reason. - dan

Found an ok load for the 1926 savage 99 straight stock take down in 300 savage! 43gn of IMR4064 under 150gn Speer hot-cor!
Velocity is around 2575fps and average 1.75” groups at 100m with a fix four scope!
The first 2 holes of each groupe are touching and then one goes low and left… anyway good enough for that rifle for what I will be using it for!

40 rounds of .243 Win. Trying to work up a load for my new rifle.
Is that your start point?

I did a load today for 70 gr hpbt in my 243, charges ranged from 37.6 to 40.3 by .3 increments, 1 each. Found a speed node @ 38.2 and again @40.0, still mild so now to load a couple 3 rnd groups either side of 40.0

Was pleasing as this is the third bullet i've tried, the others were disappointing, but now I think the old M70 has potential after all

Today I loaded a bunch of .223. Then I set up my new AGS Annealer to try it out. Seems to work great but I just did a handful of cases to get the feel for it. I'm going to borrow some templiaq to ensure I get the timing/heat correct.

Tomorrow more .223. :)

Loaded up some 223 Rem for a new to me Remington 700 LTR. 55 grain Hornady SP over IMR 3031, in Norinco brass. Shoots pretty darn good for cheaper components

Yup, this is my start. Only fired 8 Factory 100 grainers through it. Hope to do some testing this weekend.

Reloading some .410 as they have become as illusive as grouse.

filled up some Nosler 223 casings with Benchmark and topped with a 50gr Hornady Z-Max (ZOMBIE vmax). The load has been shooting 5 shot groups as small at 0.37moa in the Rem 700 LTR
