The wife goes out, the boys come out

We should get a cross-beneficial will set up :) On a side note, please contact me if you need to liquidate that beauty! I am prepared to carry one end of a rolled-up carpet with a body inside if that helps :)

Yeah, I went full retard on the rifle and mount. Probably could never get my money back in canada, but it's mint and I love it.

And that's really the name of this game. There's always items you just gotta have. Haha.

I'm sure you feel the same way about a few items.

It's pretty sad in this country that most of us have to admire beauties like this from afar. I appreciate the collection, but hate the fact that I'll probably have to go to another country to fire the prohibs.

Yeah but on the other hand at least they don't make us put them in the shredder like a lot of other countries. I spent a decade on the pig and I can tell you it's overrated as well as deadly to hearing :) Can I offer you a suggestion? The next time she asks you to take her to Vegas, agree on one condition :)

I gotta say guys, I appreciate the volume and rate of response to my humble post. These obsessions take years to bear fruit and I am happy that you guys had some fun here.

I agree with everyone here that that's a great collection and it's nice to see such a complete one in Canada. Nice to see you used a blanket so you don't get any couch gunk on the guns.

A great collection! I think it's cool to see some real collections posted.

It's a shame the prohibit stuff can't be passed to the new generation of collectors in Canada. I'm envious of those who are simply old enough to own such things, it's like going to a great bar but the beer is forever grandfathered to those born before others. Please don't take this as a rant towards your nice collection though and enjoy those licensing classes for those of us not so lucky ;)

Cheers,
-Steve

I agree it's great to actually see real collections posted.

One of the best times I've ever had was during the milsurp meet and greet at wolverine's range a couple of years ago. I brought about 20 rifles and it was great to actually have other people get to see my stuff as they are normally locked away in my vault.

I agree, being able to pick up and handle the real deal is a great experience, even if you don't get to take it home afterwards. I have come across some really rare gear in the past decade sitting in peoples gun safes. Being able to get awareness of what people collect helps as well since if I know what folks are into I can be another set of eyes for them.

Funny you mention about finding amazing things stashed in peoples vaults. One of my nicest, rarest and most valuable rifles was bought from an old guy who got it from his father in laws estate in the 1960's. He brought it home and put it in the back of his big safe and that's where I found it a couple years ago.

Funny how things work.

You are after a Boys AT Rifle? Lol, perhaps a Panzerbüches 39? That's the only one I'd make room on the couch for! I was offered one about 3 years ago by a Kiwi friend but we couldn't work out if it would look enough like "car parts" to get through customs :)

Now I am wondering what this mystic rifle of yours is?

Now I am wondering what this mystic rifle of yours is?

It's a 1943 longbranch target rifle that was regulated by Alfred George Parker. It was pretty much as new with a perfect bore and bluing. Guy who had it had zero interest I it and said it had only been fired once in like 50 years. I paid the fellows asking price and giggled all the way home!!

For a guy like me who collects milsurp based oldschool target rifles finding one that isn't a Fulton or DCRA was like hitting the jackpot!!!!

If the weathers nice this weekend perhaps I should haul out all my target rifles and make a thread. I've been dying to do that fir years.
