Not a great surprise of course; once the model 70 announcement went out, you knew they'd make the 94 eventually. Still, it's good to know that we live in a sane universe once more, where new Winchester rifles are available for sale at our local stockists and purveyors

And with the volume of 45/70's that Marlin sells, you would think Winchester would clue in and make the 1886 a regular production run gun.

I'm thinking that they couldn't make a pre 1964 quality model 94 these days and sell it for a competitive price. I'd love to be proven wrong. But I fear we will see the same sloppy lever press part rattle trap that was recently discontinued

Good thinking. An 1886 in 45/70 and an 1895 in 405 would deffinately be in my collection if they were to make them regular production. Mind you I've already got an original 1886 in 45/70, but I'd still like to have a new one
