This Model 50 was complete yet the finish was wrecked. It was cheap and I couldn’t leave without it. I refinished it last week and reassembled it this morning. The buttstock turned out to have nice figure in it. I’m looking for a vent rib barrel for it now if anyone knows of any I’d appreciate the heads up. Thanks!
The Model 50 along with the Model 12 were my first two shotguns. I still have at least 4 of them and 1 M59. The Model 50's all with vented ribs. I truly like the M50. The Winchester fellas bragged up the SX-1 saying it was superior to the M50 so eventually bought a Trap model with 3 barrels but I still prefer the Model 50's. Two of the M50's are skeet guns and the other 2 deluxe field guns. .One of the Skeets is a12 ga and the other a 20 ga. Here's a photo I have handy of the 20 ga WS-1 Skeet.
Great pics of the model 50 doing what it was designed for!
I'd be afraid to eat a pigeon these days in our area. All the major plant facilities have pest control hired to keep them in check. One of the facilities puts out poison for them(legally) through a licensed pest control service.
When I asked another friend who live traps them and disposes of them for another facility if I could have them for training birds I had to sign a waiver that I would not use them for food and that they were not responsible for any issues the dogs may develop from them.
When I queried about it is when I learned about the other facility using poison and that the birds travel miles at a time so I was on my own if using them in case they have been exposed to poisons.
The old guy ate the previous birds I shot for him here. And lived. But yes there is risk to anything you eat these days. Considering I used 7.5 lead shot that maybe his biggest concern. That he doesn’t wreck his dentures.
