I have a brand-new conquest HD 800 5-25x50 I got it from a shop in Vancouver realy like the radical on the 800
But I did not realize that the 800s are set up for Magnum rifle's such as 300Winchester mag I was going to put it on a 308 but now I don't know if I shod try to trade it in or not
Got the scope fo wen to hunt up in Alberta I new to hunting in wide open Country always bin a bush guy

A 3-15x42 with the RZ-600 retical would be far more suitable for use on a 308win hunting rifle.

That's what I'm thinking wish I would've realized before I got the scope haahaa
Not the first time I have been out impulse shopping I guess I can always get a Nother rifle it is just one big vicious circle lol

Study the calculator.

What brand / grain of ammo are you planning on shooting?

5-25x50 / 180gr Federal will give you optimum reticle @15x.

No Z-600 - 5-25x50mm available on my calculator.

EDIT: 3-15x42mm with 600 RET gives 11x optimum with the 180gr Federal.

I have 800 5-25x50

Yeah that was the input into the calculator.

From what I've seen the most optimum combo is 5-25x50mm R-1000 for a .308.

If you shoot Hornady 110gr TAP through a 3-15x42 you will get optimum @ 13x, 301yd @ 14x and 295yd @15x.

What ammo are you using? Plan on using?

I will get a nother rifle I think I will look into a 300 win mag

Yeah good choice.

'Rem 300WM 150gr copper tip' will give an optimum RET @ 23x and put you right on 300yd @ 24x.

You need to download the Zeiss AP and run different grain's through, find an optimum load.

Edit: Assuming the BC and MV is correct. 74* ambient & 3750ft with the above round should put you at 300yd @ 25x. (My current altitude and summer time average)

Don't forget to get a waterproof case for the calculator, to protect it while hunting:rolleyes:. In the meantime, why not try shooting the gun with that scope and learning how the extra crosshairs match up with your load? I'm sure you'll find a power setting that will give you a useable combination. It isn't the end of the world if the 600yard crosshair actually matches up with your load at 550, or 625, or whatever...as long as you know about it before you start shooting at critters at those ranges.

I have a HD conquest Z 600 on my 260
And a Z 800 ready to go on my 300 wsm

All the info you might require is on the Zeiss website
Though not in the most intuitive manner

Calling Zeiss Canada will get you all you need too, they will do the calculations for you
Even better is the calculator on the Zeiss app you can download
Either way you just need the MV and bullet BC

Whichever way you decide to go, don't expect the ammunition manufacturers velocities to match the velocity that your rifle produces with the load. Chronograph the load in your rifle, and actually shoot the load at longer distances to verify the point or impact. It may sound like common sense, but not everyone does this.
