Them's the brakes.....

Real men can handle recoil...
Just sayin....

Hey... That's what I used to say.
I would scoff at the idea of comps and mock my shooting companions for having them...

Untill I bought my own JP with the Cooly brake.... I am converted.

Hell... I braked my .243 bolt gum and have even considered putting one on my heay barreled .223 bolt gun!

I used to shoot the garand in SR. I find it really doesnt kick much. Gas system and weight absorb a lot of the energy. Thats not to say jerrys rifle isnt "tricked out"

As for being a "man" and shooting the untamed beast that is a rifle with no brake..... Come on..... Be nice :)
Most people i know that think a big rifle is an extention of a lower body part and start off shooting these thinking to prove something actually developed some pretty bad training scars and cant hold a tight group now because of a flinch. That being said the main brake debate here revolves around cutting you split time down.

The real men handle recoil comment was directed to 667 and his disbelief that Jerry could shoot an unmodified Garand so quickly. Maybe I need to use smileys more?
I believe he can as his hands are like vice grips.

As to the use of comps on our rifles, as I said I use a JP/Cooley and my rifle does not move when fired.
The comp along with the adjustable gas system I have, I can tune the rifle where it suits me.
The AR is fun without a brake, so much more fun all tricked out.

My bad, I "jumped the gun" on my comment. Didnt re-read the whole posting to see who said what in the past. All is well. Smilies help :D

Yep, das the one.
Got comments from people across the range about it too..... Not a small dip down.....

Making the addition the rifle is flippin sweet. Its a magical boom stick... Hard to describe. I enjoy everything about it..... Except that dip....

The dip looks more like the shooter than the gun but I have a 3G coming in a few days. Will take some video when I get a chance to try it. I heard the Benny Cooly comps are really good.
